Referrals
We accept referrals for
- ADHD assessments
- Diagnostic psychiatric evaluations
- Ongoing medication management.
Referral options for GPs/referrers
A. Mental Health Assessment + Ongoing Care
Item 296 (telehealth equivalent)
For adjustment disorder, anxiety, depression, trauma, personality vulnerabilities, bipolar, OCD, etc.
Ongoing care by psychiatrist
(Psychiatric diagnosis, treatment planning & follow-up)Medication reviews via telehealth (item 92433 or 92434)
B. ADHD Assessment + GP-led Stimulant Prescribing
Item 291 (telehealth equivalent)
Comprehensive ADHD assessment and written stimulant management plan
Ongoing care by GP
Optional psychiatrist review during first year (item 92436)
Required 12-month review, then every 3 years
C. ADHD Assessment + Psychiatrist-led Medication Management
Item 296 (telehealth equivalent)
Comprehensive ADHD assessment and diagnosis
Ongoing care by psychiatrist
(stimulant titration & psychiatric follow-up)
Short (15–30 min) or long (>30 min) follow-ups available
Pre-Referral Investigations
Please ensure the following have been completed (especially for ADHD medication / medication reviews):
- UDS – Urine drug screen (for ADHD)
- ECG (stimulant prescribing considered, cardiac history, psychotropic medication likely to be prescribed)
- BP-Blood Pressure
Recommended or if available:
- Height, weight, BMI
FBC, U&E, LFTs
TSH, B12, folate, iron studies
Fasting glucose or HbA1c, lipids
- Cardiovascular exam and auscultation
Patient has to be medically cleared / must not have known contraindications to stimulant or psychotropic medications.
